The framework of zeolites is permeated with a system of channels and communicating cavities. The pore diameter allows the mineral to sorb along with many compounds
such important substances in agriculture as NH3, N2, CO2, H2O, etc. Zeolites mixed with the soil become effective regulators of the content of certain elements in the soil. The natural zeolite we offer contains
the required amount of Ca, Mg, K and other bases, which are located in the form of ions in the crystal lattice of the mineral.
Under favorable conditions, ion-exchange interactions in the soil-zeolite system can occur immediately after its introduction, resulting in a decrease in soil acidity and an increase in its biological activity.
At the same time, the clinoptilolite contained in the mineral has a positive effect on the water-retaining capacity of the soil, which, in relation to sandy
and sandy loamy soils is very important, because in this regard, soil fertility increases.
With zeolite, a significant amount of exchangeable bases enters the soil: Ca, Mg, Na, K, as well as various trace elements, the amount of which clearly exceeds their content in the soil. Due to the highly active sorbent, as well as the appearance
exchangeable bases in the soil solution and solid phase, the absorption functions of the soil complex of sandy and sandy loamy soils increase.
In a series of practical applications with the introduction of clinoptilolite into the soil, a significant accumulation of mobile and absorbed calcium in it was recorded.
This indicates that in the soil there is an immediate interaction between the natural mineral and the soil.
Natural zeolite acts as an ion exchanger, there is a gradual replacement of cations from the framework of clinoptilolite with hydrogen ions of the soil solution and the solid phase of the soil. Thus, as a result of the use of clinoptilolite, the content of exchangeable bases: calcium, potassium, magnesium in the soil absorbing complex significantly increases compared to the initial one.
Thus, an increase in the calcium content in the soil complex during the introduction of zeolite indicates its active interaction not only with the soil, but also with mineral fertilizers. This refers to the exchange absorption of cations important for plant nutrition, which are introduced into the soil with fertilizers. This property of natural zeolites is used to prevent the loss of nutrients during their accumulation in the soil.
Genetic resources of mineral and organic substances, which are known to be the main carriers of soil absorption capacity, in sandy and
sandy soils are extremely limited, therefore, the ability of the soil to absorb and retain nutrients is also limited.
When natural zeolite is introduced into the soil, the relative content of the active mineral fraction with good ion-exchange properties in it increases,
as a result, the absorption capacity of the fertile layer increases. In a series of practical applications, the greatest increase in cationic capacity can be achieved with the application of zeolite at a rate of 15 t/ha. This approach is quite effective.
